Force is everywhere. Anyone can see it, but there are many people who think they can’t see it. This force is found in many living things, giving them form and existence. Force is involved in things that are stationary or moving, and even in phenomena such as wind and fog.
You can see the power. Feel it through your body, not your head. We must understand that the information we receive through our eyes is not just shape and color. This is because it is possible to see the energy emanating from within at the same time. And it’s involved in every movement. From the movement of our bodies, to the movement of animals, the growth of plants, the movement of clouds and waves, the rotation of the earth, and the galaxy. 　
Movement creates form. Exploding, contracting, and rotating. They create structure. Your body, the trunk of a tree, mountain. When there is Force, its shape keeps changing. When it becomes a shell, it leaves a shape behind. We are not looking at the shape. What exists there is Force and time left behind.

力　-現象と形態-

　力はどこにでもある。それは、誰でも見ることが出来るが、見えないと思う人も多くいる。その力は生命の中に多く見られ、それらに形を与え、存在を与えている。静止している物でも、動いている物でも、または、風や霧といった現象にも力は関わっている。

　あなたなは、その力を見ることができる。頭でなく、あなたの身体を通して、それを感じる。目から入る情報は単に、形や色だけではないことを知らなければならない。内側から発するそのエネルギーも同時に観ることは可能だからだ。そして、全ての動きに関わる。私達の身体の動きから、動物の動き、植物の成長、雲や波の動き、地球の回転、そして銀河へと。　

動きは形を作り出す。爆発と収縮、回転から円や球体。それらは構造を作り出す。あなたの身体、木の幹。力がある時は、その形は常に変わり続ける。抜け殻になった時は、そこに形を残す。私たちは形を見ているのではない。そこに在るものは、力であり、残した時間である。

Throughout its history, ART has developed through a variety of mediums while creating expressions that reflect society and culture. Impressionism benefited from tube paint, the advent of photography changed the meaning of painting, and the advent of video and electronic devices changed the viewing experience itself.

Media is supposed to be the plural of medium and a general term for materials, but for some reason we think that the word “media” refers to cameras, audiovisual equipment, and various other electrical devices. Paper, cloth, stone, and wood are also types of media, and each material has its own unique properties and the characteristics it gives to humans.

For example, if a certain concept is expressed using different materials, each will give a different feeling to the viewer. I want you to imagine a text sent by email and a letter written on paper. Even if the content is the same, the person receiving it will have a different feeling. We combine the tactile and visual elements contained in the expressed material with the verbal expression to convey a message to the receiver.

I use various media. This is because each medium, whether paper or video equipment, gives a different feeling to the viewer. Each time, I choose materials that have a strong impact on the viewer’s senses and are effective, and use them in my works. In order to reach the viewer’s senses directly.

メディウム/メディアと表現

　ART はその歴史の中で、社会や文化を反映する表現を創り出すと同時に、様々なメディウムよって発展してきた。印象派はチューブ絵の具の恩恵を受け、写真の登場により絵画の意味が変わり、ビデオや電子ディバイスの登場は鑑賞体験そのものを変えてきた。

　メディアはメディウムの複数形であり素材の総称であるはずだが、何故か私たちは カメラや映像音響機器、その他様々な電気デバイスを「メディア」という言葉が指し示すと考える。紙や布、石や木もメディアの1つでありその素材が持つ、また人間に与える特性がそれぞれに違う。

例えば、あるコンセプトを異素材で表現したらそれぞれ違う感覚を鑑賞者に与える。Eメールで送られてきた文章と、紙に書かれた手紙を想像して欲しい。同じ内容だとしても、受け取り手は違った感覚を持つ。私達は表現された素材に含まれる触覚的、視覚的な要素が言語表現と合わさり、受け取り側にメッセージを伝える。

　私は様々なメディアを使う。紙であれ映像機器であれメディウム一つ一つが鑑賞者に与える感覚が違うからだ。私はその都度、鑑賞者の感覚に与える影響が強く、また効果的な素材を選び作品に使う。鑑賞者の感覚にダイレクトに届くように。

We tend to think that our memories are stored in the brain. Certainly, memory exists in the brain. However, we must not forget that various memories are also stored in our internal organs.
“I felt as if the transplanted heart and lungs were sitting in my body, with their own consciousness and memories. ~A dream that proves part of my personality continues to live on. When I saw this, I became able to feel changes in myself.” ¹There is a case in which the recipient’s tastes and preferences of the owner of the transplanted organ permeate into the body of the recipient who has experienced heart transplantation, and this tendency is strengthened. Organs have memories that affect the mind of the recipient. Hobbies and tastes are made up of sensory elements and are one of the important elements for establishing identity. This experience proves that our physical bodies themselves are strongly connected to our identities. Not only in the brain, we store various memories and information throughout the body.

内蔵と感覚

私達の記憶は脳に保管されていると思いがちだ。確かに、脳に記憶は存在する。しかし、私達の内臓器官にも様々な記憶が保管されている事を忘れてはならない。

「移植された心臓と肺がそれ自体の意識と記憶を伴って、私の体内におさまっているのではないかという気がした。～個性の一部が生き続けている証となる様な夢を見て、自分自身の変化を感じられるようになった。」¹心臓移植を体験したレシピエントが移植された臓器の持ち主の趣味趣向が体内へと浸透し、その傾向が強まる事例がある。臓器の中に記憶があり、レシピエントの精神に影響するのだ。趣味趣向は感覚的な要素から成り立っており、アイデンティティの確立の重要な要素の一つでもある。この体験は私達の肉体そのものが私達のアイデンティティと強く繋がっているという事を証明している。脳だけでなく、私達は肉体全体で様々な記憶や情報を保存しているのだ。

Each person has a role. People who earn money, people who educate, people who build houses. Because we humans can’t do everything by ourselves.
“Rebuilding the world” is my current role. It’s kind of like a mission. However, that is the role at this point in time, it was different in the past and will change again in the future. Not long ago the role was different. I have created works to understand the structure of the world, and have continued to dissect and explore. During those long years, I have had work other than production activities, and in my daily awareness, I have come to understand the structure and connections of this world with surprises and discoveries. That was my previous role. Before that, I understood human thoughts, emotions, and expressions through my role as an actor. I think I reached my current role by accumulating those experiences, understandings, and roles. And now, for the reconstruction of the world, imagine and create the world.

私の役割

人にはそれぞれ役割というものがある。お金を稼ぐ人、教育する人、家を建てる人。なぜなら、私達人間は全てを一人で出来ないからだ。

　『世界の再構築』が今の私の役割である。それは、ある種の使命みたいなものだ。ただそれは、今この時点での役割であって、過去では違ったし未来にはまた変化する。すこし前までその役割は違った。私は世界の構造を理解する為に作品を創り、解剖と探究を続けて来た。その長い年月の中で制作活動以外の仕事があり、日々の気付きの中で、この世界の構造や繋がりを驚きや発見と供に理解して来た。それが、一つ前の私の役割であった。その前は、役者という役割を通して、人間の思考と感情、そして表現を理解していた。それらの経験や理解、役割を積み重ねることにより、今の役割に到達したのだと思う。そして、今は世界の再構築の為に、世界を想像し創造する。

Beauty may exist at places beyond our control. It is an overwhelming wonder, and the primary beauty may exist in a state where our ability to process information cannot reach.

Our body has undergone various evolutionary processes to reach its present state. It has preserved memories from when it was an animal, when it was a fish, and when it was an earlier invertebrate. The more we go back, the more we can understand the connections we have with such creatures. We can realize that humans are not separate from other creatures.

Maybe it’s because I often went to a swimming pool when I was little boy, I like being surrounded by water. That weightlessness, moderate water pressure, and the muffled sounds in the water helped release my body and consciousness from the everyday world. It was as if I could remember that humans came from the sea.

It is believed that the sea is the place where living organisms originated. According to anatomist and embryologist Shigeo Miki, our ancestors were a type of sea squirt, which was the prototype design for organisms with internal organs like a mouth-like entrance and an exit such as an anus. The fluctuation of seawater created the peristaltic movement of the internal organs, which developed into the rhythm of the heart’s “beating”. From a macro perspective, the fluctuation of seawater is caused by the force of attraction generated by the positional relationship between the earth and the moon, which are brought about by planetary activities such as rotations and orbital motion. It sounds so grandiose, but the rhythm that resonates in us is influenced by external factors.It is generally believed that “about 70% of our body is made of water”, so the fluid dynamics caused by water are also related to our body structure. The configuration of human internal organs, animal bones, horns, and plants is a metamorphosis of water flow movement. They were formed from the movement of water, which has plasticity.

The movement of water creates rhythms, which can be traced back to the waves of the sea. The movement of the waves which resembles earth’s blood circulation repeatedly collapses and reforms infinitely, and the same moment never appears again. Underneath, it carries the diverse similarities and structural connections of this world.

The Dawn

「美しさは私達の制御を超えた所に存在するのではないだろうか。それは、圧倒される驚異であり私達の情報処理能力が追いつかない状態の中に、本性の美しさとは存在しているのではないか。」

　私たちの身体は様々な進化の過程を経て現在に至る。そこには、動物だった頃、魚類だった頃、もっと前の無脊椎動物だった頃の記憶が保存されている。遡れば遡るほど、人間がそれらと多くの繋がりがあるのが見えてくる。人間は他と隔たりを持った存在ではないことに気づく。

　小さい頃からプールに通っていたせいかもしれないが、水に包まれているのが好きだ。あの無重力状態と適度の水圧、そして水中の少し篭った音が、日常の世界からこの身体と意識を解放させてくれる。人間が海から生まれてきたのを少し思い出せるかのように。

　海は生物が生まれた場所だとされる。解剖学者であり発生学者の三木成夫によれば、私たちの祖先はホヤの一種であり、入口を口、出口を肛門とした内臓器官はそこから生まれたとされる。海水の揺らぎが内臓の蠕動運動をつくり、その動きが心臓のリズム「鼓動」に変化した。マクロに考えれば、海水の揺らぎは地球と月との位置関係が生み出す引力が作用しておりそれらは自転、公転といった惑星単位での活動からもたらされている。大きな話しのように思えるが私たち人間の中で鳴り響くリズムには、外的な要素が大きく関わっている。また、「私達の肉体の約70％は水分でできている」という話は通説になっているが、その構造にも水がもたらす流体力学が関係している。

人間の内臓器官や動物の骨や角、植物の形態は水の流動運動のメタモルフォーゼである。それは、水という可塑性のある素材の運動から形成されたからだ。

　水の運動が生み出すリズム、その始原とされる海の波。波という地球の血液の運動は、崩壊と形成を無限に繰り返し二度と同じ瞬間が現れない。そこには、この世界の多様な類似性と構造の繋がりが隠されている。
